SkyeTek Notches 100th Design Win, Six New Production Customers

Westminster, Colo., April 23, 2007 – SkyeTek, Inc., the leading provider of embedded RFID reader technology, today reported record sales in Q1 2007, far exceeding the company’s operating plan for the quarter. Following the company’s highly successful 2006, SkyeTek attributes its continuing momentum in 2007 to a growing demand for intelligent, cost-efficient reader hardware and software that enhances the simplicity, security, and personalization of products and processes across numerous vertical markets.

SkyeTek’s successful first quarter represents155% growth vs. the first quarter of 2006 and matched the company’s Q4 2006 bookings – SkyeTek’s largest quarter on record. Over the course of the first quarter, SkyeTek eclipsed 100 cumulative design wins while adding six production customers in item-level inventory, patron management, asset tracking and product authentication. Fueled by the RFID industry’s highest customer satisfaction rating (see SkyeTek and Impinj Lead RFID Reader Providers in Customer Satisfaction), SkyeTek also experienced strong repeat sales from existing production customers through direct and indirect sales channels.

During the first quarter, SkyeTek achieved many of its strategic business objectives, highlighted by the launch of the SkyeTek Partner Program and signing of four value-added resellers in Europe. The program is designed to help the company and its partners jointly offer market-leading SkyeTek RFID solutions to end-users around the globe. Four new members of the program, TDC, Equipements Scientifiques, AVE, and IAData, will each carry SkyeTek’s full line of HF and UHF reader modules and ReaderWare software in the United Kingdom/Ireland, France, Benelux, and Nordic countries, respectively.

SkyeTek has also received industry accolades over the past few months for their unique approach to embedded RFID. In addition to the company’s industry-best customer satisfaction rating, SkyeTek was recently announced as the winner of EDN’s 17th Annual Innovation Award in the Computers, Boards, and Buses category. SkyeTek won the award with its M9 SkyeModule, the world’s most intelligent, globally compliant UHF reader module. The win marked the second distinction for SkyeTek in the past month. SkyeTek’s customer ADASA was announced the winner of CMP’s Excellence in RFID Technology Award for its SkyeTek-enabled PAD3500, a low-cost, wearable mobile encoder that supports the encoding of UHF RFID tags anywhere.
