SkyeTek announces the SkyeRead™ M1
August 15, 2002 Boulder, Colorado, USA - SkyeTek LLC today announces it has started shipping samples of the SkyeRead M1 - the worlds most powerful 13.56MHz RFID reader in its class. The M1 is a true multi-protocol RFID read/write module compatible with most all HF and 13.56MHz RFID tags and smart labels like ISO15693 and ISO14443.
With a built-in antenna, several host interface types and single cell battery operation, this plug and play device is available at a price that will enable new RFID markets and applications.
SkyeTek plans also to license the technology so that OEMs and high volume can control their own manufacturing and costs by integrating the reader circuit directly onto new or existing hardware platforms.
The M1 is the core technology and the first in a series of RFID scanner products scheduled to be released over the next year. The SkyeRead family of RFID readers will include the M1 and other modules, handhelds, and fixed position readers for HF and 13.56MHz RFID applications.
