Consumables that interface with the product are tagged by their manufacturer with a passive RFID tag which is read and authenticated by a reader embedded in the product. Counterfeits are not accepted by the reader because they lack an authenticated tag, and reused consumables are recognized by the reader as having been previously used, helping to promote safety, brand integrity, and quality. By tagging their consumables, SkyeTek customers have also benefited via in-store theft protection and improved supply chain tracking capabilities.
