Advanced Universal Reader Architecture
SkyeTek’s Advanced Universal Reader Architecture (AURA)™ is a modular, open-architected platform for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) reader technology that greatly expands the opportunities for a broad range of industries to incorporate RFID as a feature in their products.

Customers adopting AURA gain a common, open reader architecture that makes the task of designing, building and maintaining an RFID enabled application simple, timely and cost efficient over the lifetime of the application.  AURA not only provides the industry’s broadest array of reader functionality, but also allows customers to choose the specific combination of tags, protocols and hardware that maximizes their application’s value.

Disaggregating RFID Hardware and Software

SkyeTek’s Advanced Universal Reader Architecture (AURA) disaggregates the RFID reader into two layers:

  • SkyeOS provides a single abstraction of the underlying tags, protocols, and hardware, and optimizes read / write performance through advanced reader intelligence and seamless application integration.  The AURA software layer is common to all SkyeTek RFID reader modules.
  • ReaderDNA optimizes RFID readers for efficiencies in cost, density, and power consumption, and provides a common electrical and mechanical architecture across HF and UHF reader modules.
