Small handheld RFID readers read and store RFID data and connect to other computing devices, such as a cellular phone or PDA, to download the data. This approach allows for a very simple, lightweight device for acquiring RFID data in applications where tagged items are distributed across a broad or diverse area.
For mobile applications, SkyeTek’s MetaFi Agent resides on a computing device such as a PC, cellular telephone, or PDA. The handheld readers communicate with the agent using Bluetooth or a similar wireless connection.
