Topics Covered

Each 8-hour class is split into five 1.5 hour sections:

Section I: Embedded RFID Overview This fast-paced section provides engineers, designers and project managers insight into the rapidly evolving field of Embedded RFID. Section begins with a brief overview of the basic components of passive RFID, quickly shifting into the theories and subtleties behind embedding RFID into OEM devices. Discover how RFID extends beyond traditional supply chain applications into new and interesting uses such as anti-counterfeiting, patron management, patient safety, and UHF passive tracking. Three case studies further illustrate implementation considerations.

Section II: The Developers Kit Exposed Hands-on section aimed at familiarizing students with the SkyeTek SkyeModule developers kit. Addresses both UHF and HF frequencies. After reviewing each component and its inner workings, students install all necessary software to begin reading and testing tags.

Section III:
Leveraging API, ReaderWare and Demo Software Section dedicated to uncovering the rich programming suite available to SkyeTek readers. Hands-on programmatic interaction with the reader and its environment through ReaderWare API. Explores Security Libraries, Encryption, Hashing, Tag Support Matrices and Field Updates for Investment Protection

Section IV: Advanced Embedding Concepts Section focuses on common challenges faced by customers as they attempt to design SkyeTek into their existing product lines from Integration, Pilot to Production. Topics include: Antenna Design, Tag Optimization, Regulatory Certification, Market Proof-of-concepts, Scalable Licensing, Security, Partner Ecosystem, Networking readers and Enterprise reporting.

Section V: Ask the Expert SkyeTek senior architects and experts answer students’ questions in an open forum environment.
